For my conversation with Precog Magazine, I created a playlist that explores the idea of music samples as sonic erasures. A music sample works in similar ways as the remaining text from an erasure—a part of the original piece exists, but what remains has been crafted into a new piece, informed by the structure of what came before. This playlist is a collection of some of my favorite samples & their sources.
